Heather Tenold became part of the Southland family on February 24, 2020.
As a quick learner and Prepress Technician, Heather strives to ensure proofs go down swiftly and flawlessly, minimizing errors. She contributes to plate filling in prepress and has even explored Bindery work, always eager to embrace new learning opportunities. Handling digital job submissions for the printer, Heather continually expands her skill set.
What Heather loves most about her job is the satisfaction of making customers happy. She takes pride in getting their orders right before they hit the digital press and finds joy in cleaning up and recreating logos when needed.
Heather firmly believes in the importance of her work. She serves as the bridge between the sales department and the customer, responsible for creating and revising proofs. Ensuring the accuracy of proofs before they reach the press is crucial, and she works closely with Brady (Prepress/Commercial Department Manager) and Brad (Prepress Associate) to double-check everything. If there’s a slip-up, it affects press and sales team efficiency, highlighting the significance of her attention to detail.
Working in the collaborative prepress environment feels like being part of a tight-knit family for Heather. Whether helping Brad with artwork questions or receiving corrections from him or Brady, they form a supportive group striving for efficiency and caring about each other.
Heather believes Southland stands out as a workplace because it’s more than a company; it’s a big family. Communication is seamless, and everyone lends a hand in times of need. It truly feels like a second home for Heather, thanks to the fantastic people she works with.
Outside of work, Heather’s life is a vibrant mix. She’s a proud mother and active PTA member, a runner, half iron woman, bird owner, pilot, thrill-seeker, biker, crocheter, painter, digital artist, and crafter. Halloween holds a special place in her heart, and she loves putting puzzles together and creating chalk murals on her driveway with her daughter.
On the running front, Heather has accomplished three half marathons and three marathons within a three-month period, earning a spot in the registry of double agents of running. Having completed a half ironman, her current goal is to shed some weight and tackle the ultimate challenge – an ironman race covering 140.6 miles of swimming, biking, and running.
Southland is incredibly proud to have Heather as part of our team. Her dedication, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit make her an invaluable asset. We appreciate the positive impact she has on our work environment and look forward to many more years of shared success. Thank you, Heather, for your outstanding contributions to our company!
